Webinar: From token to transformation
Join the Equal Media & Culture Centre online for an informative lunchtime webinar, where we’ll discuss the findings of our latest research paper, titled From token to transformation: The impact of Creative Scotland’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Action Plan requirements.
In this webinar we will present the findings from our latest research paper, which investigates the impact of Creative Scotland’s EDI Action Plan requirements on funded organisations. The research was designed to run independently alongside the Scottish Government’s Independent Review of Creative Scotland, which was published in November 2025. Our aim is to keep EDI within focus. The paper offers actionable recommendations to enhance Creative Scotland’s EDI requirements, and to help move beyond tokenistic tick boxes.
In our panel discussion we will reflect on how Creative Scotland can improve on their existing EDI policy requirements at a time of institutional reflection and change, to ensure that EDI remains a priority and that women and marginalised communities are enabled and included in the creative sector.
EMCC Project Manager Katie Goh will be joined by panellists Veronique AA Lapeyre, Director of Scottish Contemporary Art Network and Halina Rifai, Project Lead at We Are Here Scotland/Creative Balance and Audio Industry Professional.
Where are the examples of good practice in the sector? How can they be shared between organisations? What is Creative Scotland’s role foing forward?
