Hustings Event: Scotland’s Cultural Future (Hybrid online/in person)
Hear Scotland’s main political parties set out their plans for supporting our cultural lives in the next parliamentary term. We’ve joined forces with Scottish and UK cultural organisations to host a hustings event for the sector.
What can we expect from Scotland’s main political parties following the forthcoming election in May? Join us (in person in Edinburgh, or online via livestream) to hear party representatives respond to key issues facing the cultural sector. Submit your questions and key concerns in advance to help shape the content of the evening.
A hustings event is a chance for voters to learn more about political parties’ stances on certain topics, and for politicians to address potential voters. It’s a key part of our democratic system and takes place as a panel event, with a Chair fielding questions to the politicians in attendance.
This is a non-selective hustings, aiming to create a safe and respectful space to talk about the issues faced by the culture sector and how the candidates hope to provide solutions if elected.
Event Chair: Halla Mohieddeen
Event organisers: Culture Counts, Federation of Scottish Theatre, Scottish Contemporary Arts Network, Festivals Edinburgh, Equal Media and Culture Centre and Campaign for the Arts.
